I was very interested when I saw Pai Skincare announce that they were releasing a cleanser for sensitive and blemish-prone skin, as my skin is both of those things. So, I signed up to try it and preview this product.
Phaze is a really gentle liquid cleanser, that foams up a little if you add water to it in your hands; if you just apply it to your damp skin, I found that it didn’t foam up, until water was added to work it in and then rinse it off. I found it never left my skin feeling dry or tight or sensitive after rinsing the product off—a problem I have found with other liquid exfoliators, in the past. In fact, after washing my face with Phaze, my skin would feel really soft, fresh, and hydrated.
Though it appears quite a small bottle, I found two shallow pumps were more than enough to clean both my face and neck; with using that amount every morning and evening for over two weeks, I still have over half of the bottle left. So, it feels like it’ll last for a good while, too.
My skin is generally quite sensitive and prone to breakouts; prior to receiving Phaze, I was suffering from the worst breakouts I’ve had in years, as a product I had been using contained an ingredient that I’m allergic to (and I didn’t realise for ages). So, my skin was very red and irritated, and I had a lot of almost cystic, under-the-skin spots that weren’t responding well to my efforts to get them to clear up.
And then, I received Phaze, and started washing my face and neck with it every morning and night. I remember thinking that the product had its work cut out for it, simply due to the condition of my skin.
Over the course of the first three days, those particular stubborn spots all came to the surface, but I did notice that no new ones occurred. Then, on day four, I noticed that the spots started to diminish—and as the marks of them continued to fade, there wasn’t any hyperpigmentation or redness left behind. This has continued with using it for over two weeks now, and I’ve found it’s also helped reduce hormonal breakouts, too.
Not only has it helped with acne, I’ve also noticed that the texture of my skin has improved, and the blackheads I have are clearing up, too.
Overall, I’m really happy with how my skin has responded to this product and how its condition has improved as I’ve used it! I feel like this cleanser does everything that I want a face wash to do, but until now, I have never found one that ticks all of the boxes. I’ll definitely keep using this cleanser, and I see myself picking up more, once I’ve finished the bottle I have.
All in all, I would really recommend it, especially if you’ve been looking for a cleanser with exfoliating acids but have never found one that worked for you because your skin was too sensitive.
